Where We Started

Patio Covers That Fit Kingwood Homes

All-Tex Home Improvement Services began as a local company serving Kingwood and the northeast Houston communities. More than 35 years later, our family still builds patio covers for homes here in the Livable Forest.

Many Kingwood homes have been here for decades, with established yards, older slabs and big pines overhead. We build covers that fit what is already there, tie into your roofline and look like they came with the house.

  • Roofline, shingles and trim matched so the cover looks original
  • Covers built over older slabs, checked for level and drainage first
  • Posts and footings planned around mature trees and roots
  • Drawings and details ready for your village association

Patio Cover Options

Pick the Cover That Fits Your Patio

Every cover is built to order for your Kingwood home, matched to your slab, your roofline and the trees around your yard.

Solid roof patio cover built over a back patio at a Houston home

Attached Covers

The roof ties into the back of the house and reads as part of the home. This is the most common build and the easiest one to step out into.

Freestanding timber pavilion with bar seating and a stone fireplace in a back yard

Freestanding Covers

Set the structure out in the yard over a seating area, a grill or a spa. Good when the roofline of the house doesn’t leave room to tie in.

Pergola style patio cover with an open beam top over a Houston back patio

Pergola Style Covers

Want light to come through? An open top keeps the space bright and airy. Pick it when you’d rather have the light and air than stay dry in the rain.

How It Works

How the Job Actually Runs

Three steps, one price agreed up front, and one person to call if you have a question.

1

Free On Site Inspection

We come out, measure the patio, and look at the roofline and the drainage. We price it before we go, and the visit itself is free.

2

Design and Materials

Our patio consultants plan the cover around your home. You pick the style, the materials, the column look and the roof, to suit your budget.

3

Build and Walkthrough

Our crew sets the columns, frames and finishes the roof, and cleans up the site. Then we go over the finished cover with you, top to bottom, before we call it done.

Your project manager gives you the schedule once the design is approved and the materials arrive.

What It Costs

What Affects Your Patio Cover Price

We price covers at the house. Size, material and how the roof ties into the house decide most of the price.

Patio Size

Covering one seating area costs less than roofing the whole slab. Square footage drives most of the total.

Roof and Materials

A solid roof, an insulated roof and an open top all price differently. Your consultant lays the options out side by side.

Attached or Freestanding

Tying the roof into the house is different work than setting a standalone structure out in the yard.

Lights, Columns and Gas

Lighting, custom columns and a gas line for a grill each add to the base price.

Want the real number for your patio? The visit costs nothing.

FAQ

Patio Covers in Kingwood: Local Questions

Do I need a permit for a patio cover in Kingwood?

Kingwood is part of the City of Houston, so the city’s permit rules apply. We check what your project needs and handle the permit work as part of the job.

Do I need approval from my village association?

Most Kingwood villages have deed restrictions that cover new structures, so plan on an approval step. We give you the drawings, materials and colors the association asks for.

Will the cover look like part of the house?

That’s what we aim for on every build. We match the roof pitch, shingles and trim so the cover reads as part of the original home.

Can you build over an older patio slab?

Usually, yes. Many Kingwood homes date back to the 1970s through the 1990s, so we check the slab for level, cracks and drainage at the visit and plan the footings to match. If the slab needs work first, we tell you before you sign.
