Shade and Cover Under the Pines in The Woodlands

Back yards in The Woodlands sit under tall pines and oaks. You get some shade, but you also get needles, leaves and sap on the patio furniture, and the afternoon storms still drive everyone inside. A solid patio cover keeps the space clean and dry.

Design matters here. Every village has deed restrictions, and new structures go through design review, so we design your cover to match the roof pitch, trim and colors of your home and hand you a complete package for the application.

  • Roof pitch, shingles and trim matched to your home
  • Drawings and specs prepared for your village’s design review
  • Gutters planned for heavy pine needle and leaf fall
  • Insulated roofs, fans and lighting for warm summer evenings

Patio Cover Options

Pick the Cover That Fits Your Patio

Every cover is built to order for your home in The Woodlands, matched to your slab, your roofline and the trees around your yard.

Solid roof patio cover built over a back patio at a Houston home

Attached Covers

The roof ties into the back of the house and reads as part of the home. This is the most common build and the easiest one to step out into.

Freestanding timber pavilion with bar seating and a stone fireplace in a back yard

Freestanding Covers

Set the structure out in the yard over a seating area, a grill or a spa. Good when the roofline of the house doesn’t leave room to tie in.

Pergola style patio cover with an open beam top over a Houston back patio

Pergola Style Covers

Want light to come through? An open top keeps the space bright and airy. Pick it when you’d rather have the light and air than stay dry in the rain.

How It Works

How the Job Actually Runs

Three steps, one price agreed up front, and one person to call if you have a question.

1

Free On Site Inspection

We come out, measure the patio, and look at the roofline and the drainage. We price it before we go, and the visit itself is free.

2

Design and Materials

Our patio consultants plan the cover around your home. You pick the style, the materials, the column look and the roof, to suit your budget.

3

Build and Walkthrough

Our crew sets the columns, frames and finishes the roof, and cleans up the site. Then we go over the finished cover with you, top to bottom, before we call it done.

Your project manager gives you the schedule once the design is approved and the materials arrive.

★★★★★
“As the rear of my house and roof design had many angles, I was amazed that they were able to design and mold into the home as if it was originally built in in the initial construction process. … Price quoted, was price paid.”

“The guys did a great job, kept the worksite clean and safe and responded to any questions we had. Overall a great new look for our home with an addition that looks like it was built when the house was.”

What It Costs

What Affects Your Patio Cover Price

We price covers at the house. Size, material and how the roof ties into the house decide most of the price.

Patio Size

Covering one seating area costs less than roofing the whole slab. Square footage drives most of the total.

Roof and Materials

A solid roof, an insulated roof and an open top all price differently. Your consultant lays the options out side by side.

Attached or Freestanding

Tying the roof into the house is different work than setting a standalone structure out in the yard.

Lights, Columns and Gas

Lighting, custom columns and a gas line for a grill each add to the base price.

Want the real number for your patio? The visit costs nothing.

FAQ

Patio Covers in The Woodlands: Local Questions

Do I need design review approval for a patio cover in The Woodlands?

Yes. Exterior changes in The Woodlands go through design review under the deed restrictions for your village. We give you the drawings, materials and colors the application asks for, and we start once you have the approval.

Will the cover match my house?

That’s the goal on every job. We match the roof pitch, shingles, trim and paint so the cover reads as part of the original home, which also makes design review easier.

How do you handle all the pine needles and leaves?

We plan the roof slope and gutters for the debris your trees drop, so water keeps moving off the cover. A solid roof also keeps needles and sap off your furniture.

Can you add lights and a fan?

Yes. Ceiling fans, lights and outlets are easiest to wire while the roof goes up. Tell us at the visit how you plan to use the space and we’ll plan the wiring with the cover.
